Informatica: Deployment of Informatica artifacts by using group

Below is the complete step by step informatica artifacts deployment process from one repository to other.

Open Informatica PowerCenter Repository Manager.

Step 1:

Create label: Go to VersioningàLabels

Press “New” button and Name the label.

Step 2:

Apply Label:Go to  Versioning à Apply Label

 Press Next

Then select specific folder then required workflow and press Add as shown in figure below. 

Then Press Next

Now select label that we created in step 1.

Press Ok.

Now select both following options and Press Finish.

1. Label All Children
2. Label All Parents

Step 3:

Create Query:Go to Toolsà Queries

Press New

Now do the following

1. Name the query

2. Change Query Type à Shared

3. Add a new query parameter as shown in figure

4. Select “Label” and “Reusable Status” as parameter name.

5. Select respective Operators as shown in figure below.

6. Then select Value. 

        a. Against parameter “Label”, select the label which we created in step 1. 

        b. Against parameter “Reusable Status” select both option of Non-reusable and Reusable.

7. Press Save and Close the both windows of Query creation.

Note:

Query content can also be viewed by press blue “PLAY” button in above figure.

Step 4:

Create Group: ToolsàDeploymentàGroups (click on Groups)

Create new group and do following configuration.

1. Create New Group as shown in Figure.

2. Name the group accordingly.

3. Select Dynamic option

4. Select query which we created in step 3.

Newly created group will be shown in the list, shown below.

Step 5: 

Deploy group to respective folder like from “Dev_Repo” to “UAT_Repo”.

Now look for your group in tree as shown below.

Step 6:

Now drag and drop the group from source (Dev_repo) shown above to the target repo (UAT_Repo).

Then Press next on below window.

Verify the source and target folders and press Next. as shown below.

Press Next:

If you want to copy persisted values from source repository to destination repository select the check box as shown in figure below else unchecked it.

To keep the persisted values in target folder select the check box in below figure and press next.

If you want to retain Sequence Generator, Normalizer or XML key current value. Select the check box as shown in figure below and press next.

Press Next.

Press Next.

Press finish and deployment will be completed and artifacts will be copied to target folder.
